I do need to pick a new goal to focus on!!

This time I think I&#039;m going to take a gel at mile 6, 12 and 18 with water and drink gatorade the last 5 miles or so.  I&#039;m not a big fan of running on gatorade.  I think it is a better replacement drink than during or before a race.

You should experiment a bit and see what works for you.  I use power gels...I accidentally picked up a box of gels with caffeine in when I bought my last box, but I&#039;ve run on it a couple times and it seems to be ok.  Today I noticed a pick up in about 18 minutes after eating it, so I decided to take it at 6 miles because I usually start to feel sluggish at 8 miles into my marathons.
