6.19 miles in 51:44 at 8:21 mins/ mile
I ran slow again this morning and then snuck out for a quick 10 mile bike ride on my lunch break today. Just enough to blow the cobwebs off the rims.

I have a bit of a sore knee, so really tried to take it easy this morning. I’ve been thinking more about the three-key-workout strategy and suspect that even if I continue to run more than three days, my key days will be more productive if my [...]

12.26 miles in 1:32:13 at 7:31 mins/ mile
I’ve been searching a bit this week for new motivation to continue training. I’m considering the Seafair marathon in July for my next challenge. But, with so much focus on the Wenatchee marathon, I forgot to really plan for the rest of the season. It’s [...]

I’m still pretty sore, but I would say that this is the best recovery that I’ve experienced in comparison to my previous marathons. I guess I can attribute that to all the long runs.

3.0 miles in 27:00 at 9.00 mins/ mile
My quads are still sore, but it really felt good to run today. There’s nothing like the satisfaction of sore muscles.

The Challenge

Oh, my gosh do I hurt today. This was top speed. I would have been easy prey today. My quads are so tight I can barely bend my knees to sit down. No bad pains, just sore muscles!!

26.42 miles in 3:05:12 at 7.00 mins/ mile
Well, I survived and I qualified for Boston with an unofficial time of 3:05:12 so my main objectives were achieved. I made some really rookie mistakes that made for a pretty poor showing in the last 6-10 miles. I’m WAY TOO TIRED tonight to recap, but [...]
